Short termers
We have lots that we can do together!
We love to share our lives and ministry opportunities with those that the Lord leads to come out and work with us. We live in a very remote, desolate region, so be sure you are physically and mentally prepared for the potential challenges that you can face in the bush here with us. God is doing so much here! We would love to have your help if you are interested.
Short Term ministry opportunities with us in Uganda can be one of the most unique spiritual adventures you have ever experienced. We encourage you to interact with the indigenous communities, make friends, develop a heart for relational ministry, setting aside your time-orientation and you busy-ness, your productivity, and instead sit and reach out in Love across the cultural divide. We have found that the biggest impact we can have is to have a "To Be" list, rather than a "To Do" list. As your heart of love and service deepens, the souls of those around you become more valuable to you, more precious. We'd like to Break Your Heart, and then let Christ Heal It, around the campfire at night, in your quiet times in the mornings, or while sharing your lunch with a new Ugandan friend...
Waffle and I live in a small village (Kangole) about 30 miles from Moroto. Very few of the roads are paved, there is no running water in the house and we use a pit latrine. We recently installed electricity, but it can go off without notice. There is sometimes internet access, but we pay per MB, so we use it sparingly.
The Karamojong culture is a very unique ethnic group, with significant traditional components. We love staying with the people in their community, however, and you can learn so many things from them, such as: chapati making, building a charcoal fire, herding goats in the bush, riding a bodaboda (bicycle or motorcycle taxi) and pumping water from the borehole! You can make a difference in the lives of the people that you interact with!
We also work with the Teso People near Soroti. We do our livestock revolving loans there and our Timothy Spiritual Retreat for our sponsored kids.
