We praise God for the many construction projects that He is inspiring in our communities.

We also praise God for all of the people who have been participating in building these simple structures, to the glory of God! Working cross-culturally with others who have a variety of skills and talents, as well as a variety of growing edges, make Team Work essential. So glad that God gives us all grace!!

Check out all of the amazing projects we are working on!

Nakayot Peace Village Primary School, Latrine and Kitchen.

God is so faithful!  In 2008, we began the Peace Village of Nakayot. Hundreds of children came with their parents to this empty land, hoping for  a new future. Initially, we set up a black board under a tree, and provided slates for the children to write on. Later, we built temporary structures to house the growing numbers of children, but 6 years ago it completely collapsed. Another temporary one we put up 2 years ago, but it also began breaking apart. God provided funding and a couple great work crews to begin construction of a school kitchen, as well as 2 two-room school blocks. We were so excited when we went out to check on the construction and found 450 children eagerly attending school under the acacia tree, in anticipation of having a school building shortly! God is good!

On January 2018, we were able to commission the 4 room school, which will now house 800 students, learning their reading, writing, arithmatic, and Bible. God is good! Thanks for joining us in this great ministry. The Ugandan government has promised us to send higher qualified teachers to help us if we can build a teachers' quarters for them. That's on our wish list now, together with rooms for the 5th, 6th and 7th graders!

We had a couple amazing teams from Oregon come out to support this construction of the Nakayot community school. We really enjoyed the skills, the fellowship and the encouragement that they brought with them!

Nabwal church and Parsonage

When you go to church in Nabwal, you would find the school room filled and many of the youth hanging from the windows outside because they could not get to the over-crowded "Church-room". The opportunity to help this new congregation focuses to work with them to build their own Church building.  (Empowering the members of the Church)  Meeting with them and their construction committee, gives them the chance to build.  Yes they have so little, but such great hopes for their church.  Their commitment and involvement is shown by their having prepared the site by having gathered the building stones and slashed the area where the Church is to be built. In Nabwal, the body of believers is growing and we are engaged in building a pole barn type structure and a place for Pastor Louse Peter to live. The communities gathered large piles of stones for construction and are pounding them to get gravel for us.

We praise God for gifts over the years towards building of churches and Pastor's homes. For many years, we struggled with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority, who was trying to take the land away from the church and the villagers, claiming it was a Wildlife Preserve. Fortunately, the government has backed down after many people, including the local politicians, complained and petitioned for support from the First Lady, Janet Museveni. We were finally able to begin the building and get the process on the way. Unfortunately, there was alot of rain during the time of the visitors, so they were not able to complete the work that they had begun. Sleeping in leaking tents and rushing out between downpours, they were able to weld the external structure of the pastors house together and put up the poles for the church. More will be done next January when the team returns.

These construction teams are such a blessing to God's people, to work with them to construct Places of Worship, and Prayer. We are greatful to Mr. Feshchenko, of Albany, and Mr. Gil Smith of Corvallis for their significant fund raising for these ministries in the peace villages.

CLIDE Head Office and Staff Quarters:  Moroto

The CLIDE construction committee is planning some amazing opportunities. An office in Moroto is next on the list. Future plans in Moroto include bandas, demonstration gardens and a training center. This gives CLIDE an opportunity to utilize this upcoming facility to host trainings, host short term Missionaries, and our Moroto office the staff.  Renting the training room could also be a source of income for CLIDE.

St. Mark's Church of Uganda:  Kangole

The CLIDE Advocacy Team (CAT) helped us to finish up our portion of the construction of the new St. Marks Church, in Kangole, Uganda.

The new building will seat up to 1000 people, and will be a huge blessing for the believers in the communities.  Currently, they are crowded into a smaller, crumbling structure, which has been there since the '50's. Our goal is to further the Footprint of the Gospel in Karamoja, empowering local pastors to reach others for Christ. Special thanks to Cmdr. Steve Winstead for designing the building and heading the construction process. We enjoyed having our Timothy sponsored children learning construction on the job! Currently, the church members are raising funds to complete the foundation and build a fence around the structure. We praise God for their initiative and for the way they are learning to work so well together as One Body!

Nurses' Quarters in Nakayot

Families in the peace villages struggle to get adequate health care. It can take them 6 hours to hike out of the village to get to the main road, where they can hitchike or hire a ride to the local hospita, another 40 miles away. Now, with the new Nurses' Quarters in place, we can get a qualified nurse to oversea the Village Health Team and Traditional Birth Attendants that we have been working with, so that they can provide the much needed health services.

CLIDE Farm and Staff Quarters:  Kapadokook

We have a small piece of property in Nabwal District and hope in the future to establish a  demonstration farm there. We have grown Sunflower and Cowpeas, but there is great potential for sorghum, pumpkins and other crops. We are in the process of putting up a small hut for a living quarters there, so that we can stay there when we do our ministries in the Peace Communities.

CLIDE Napak Office:  Lokiteded

The new Napak District is beginning to function in Lokiteded. CLIDE has a good peice of property there which will eventually house the CLIDE Napak office. For now, we may put up a simple residential structure, to house a caretaker, while we develop the land and do some tree planting.

Lomilo Staff Quarters:  Lokiteded

Lomilos have a smaller piece of land in Lokiteded that could be used for construction staff housing for the CLIDE office. This is a long term plan.

Lomilo Discipleship Training Center

We bought 100 acres! It is an empty peice of farmland on the edge of Mt. Elgon. We are still in the visioning stages of determining how God wants us to use this land, for His glory and purposes. Please join with us in prayer as we offer to Him, all that is in our hands.

CLIDE Arapai Hostel

CLIDE has a piece of land near Soroti that we would like to see generating income for the organisation. Sustainability of any African ministry requires local revenue streams, such that the organisation is not overly dependent on outside resources. Building of this hostel (college student housing) can provide steady income for supporting the adminsitrative costs of CLIDE ministries.
